Visiting Writer & Workshops

WORKSHOPS & RETREATS: Heid Erdrich regularly travels to guest teach at colleges, universities and schools.  In 2012 Heid will facilitate the 11th Turtle Mountain Writer’s Workshop for Native American Writers.  Details forthcoming. 

TEACHING HISTORY: A long-time writing teacher, Heid Erdrich teaches in community settings and at colleges and universities as a visiting writer, guest author, and lecturer. Published as a poet, playwright, non-fiction and fiction author, Heid teaches writing workshops and leads retreats in multiple genres. Heid delights in interdisciplinary creative and scholarly work and has been a guest of Creative Writing, English, Native American Studies, Women’s Studies, Art and other departments.

Recent visiting writer residencies, addresses, lectures and readings include: University of Arizona Tucson, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, North Dakota State University, SUNY Oneonta, Native American Literature Symposium, Bemidji Book Festival, Fond du Lac Community College; University of Wisconsin, River Falls; the ACTC Writer-in-Residence at Augsburg College, Minneapolis; the Ethnic Voices series sponsored by Park College in Kansas City; Haskell Indian Nations University; the Institute of American Indian Arts, Dartmouth College, Canisius College, and dozens of other libraries and institutions.
